Sharepoint lists and Flow - Update Status Field

Hello,

I have a New Item Setup Request form which is 1) initiated by anyone within the organization; then 2) approved by SCM; then 3) the item is setup in the MRP system by Engineering; then 4) closed. At steps 1, 2 & 3; each person updates the form with data and at step 3 the Engineer closes the form.

The form currently has a status field (choice type/ combo box); which I would like updated during each phase. 1) submitted; 2) approved; 3) closed.

I have a MS Flow to email the form to each person depending on values within the form but how do I get the status field to update automatically? My Flow is not an approval flow. Should it be?

Help.

    Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow's configuration?

Could you please show a bit more about the form that you mentioned? Is it the form within PowerApps app?

Do you want the Status field to be updated within your PowerApps app?

If you want the Status field to be updated within your PowerApps app, I think the Patch() function could achieve your needs. Please check and see if the following threads would help in your scenario:

More details about Patch() function in PowerApps app, please check the following article:

    Patch function

If you want the Status field to be updated within your Microsoft Flow, I think the "Update item" action could achieve your needs. More details about the "Update item" action of SharePoint connector, please check the following article:

    Update item

If you could provide more details about your scenario, we would provide a proper workaround for you.

    Best regards,

    Kris
