Convert Date and Times for Dynamics 365

Posted on by 92

Good afternoon all,

working with a generic template from the Power Automate store for a "Daily email with Activities from Dynamics 365 Due Today"

The time in the template is set to UTC using a filter query and i would like to convert the date and time from UTC to our local time zone of EST and show MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM

The filter query has the functions below  for the Start and Due date fields from the activity entity

Start Date:

formatDateTime(utcNow(),'yyyy-MM-dd')

Due date :

formatDateTime(addDays(utcNow(),1),'yyyy-MM-dd')

This what the report looks like without the conversion

Please advise,

Thanks!

    Hi @clubinski ,

    Could you share the specific configuration in Apply to each?

    I have no way to get the template you are using, so I don't know its specific configuration.

    Regarding the time zone conversion, you could consider using the Convert time zone action to convert the time zone, and then configure the Format string to specify the time format.

    Then append the value of the Convert time zone action to the array variables.

    Best Regards,

    Hey @v-bacao-msft ,

    Apply to Each Configuration:

    I tried using the Convert Time zone action before the array, during and after and nothing works. I DIDNT however format string differently if that was needed.

    I do not see the ISO 8601 format as an option under the convert time zone action.

    Hope this helps!

    You can only due one field per converted time action.

    That was my problem. I was trying to do but Due Date and Start in one converted time which will not work. Separated it out and all worked perfectly.

    Thank you
