I installed Power Automate desktop on my desktop, Windows 10 Enterprise on my work laptop. After I install, it is asking me to login with domain credential. Do you I need to login - I thought, if we have a windows license, then it is free. I am ok in login, but I do not a want a scenario when there is an issue in internet connection  - in which case I will not able to login and connect to cloud. Internet connection outage h happens in our area and then I cannot run the Desktop  flows

I have the same question (0)

Power Automate Desktop absolutely requires internet connectivity. Your flows will not work if you are not connected to internet. That's to answer the last question in the thread.

As to logging in to an account, you can login using a work/school account, in which case you will need a Premium license or a Trial. If you want to use the free version of PAD, tou should login with a free (personal) Microsoft account.

essentially, that means, that means, I am in front of my desktop and I cannot run desktop flows if either of the situations is true

    1. internet connection is down

    2. Power automate side of Microsoft Azure cloud services -is down (otherwise why else they need to login to the power automate desktop console)

I am referring to the desktop flows and not to run any flows from cloud

Yes, what you said is correct, but situation #2 is highly unlikely. However, regardless of whether or not you do it from cloud, PAD absolutely always requires internet connection.

thanks for the feedback, what has been the community experience. When someone logs to Power Automate desktop console and if it requires internet connection, it must be doing some service validation  behind the scenes  - and it that service is down - can I still run the flow. We cannot test that scenario

No complaints, great tool, coming free  -  wanted to get a correct picture as I to have present to my Manager for automation

No offense, but I kind of feel like it was my answer that solved your question, but you accepted your own reply as the solution. While there are no guidelines for this, I did help you, and I feel like I deserve the extra karma points for answering your question.
