Hello together,

i have a canvas app on a pc. I want to scan a business card threw the webcam.

The business card scanner widget opens the windows "file open" dialog. Here i can select a picture.

But i want to use the webcam from my pc as datasource.

How i can use the business card scanner with a webcam?

best greetings

    Hi @superfliege ,

I've made a similar test and I found that:

1)in website, the business card scanner could only scan local images.

2)in mobile phone app, the  the business card scanner could be used as a camera and scan captured images.

I'm afraid it's not supported to use  business card scanner on a pc with webcam.

For now, you could only choose local images to scan in business card scanner.

I suggest you express your views about adding this function on PowerApps Ideas Forum. Your precious feedback will be very helpful for our work.

Ai model is still a function in experimental process. I believe it will improve in the future.

Really very sad, since the functionalities are all there and you simply cannot "link" them properly.
But I can understand that because these functions are all very new.

    I posted an idea:

I have also found a workarround:

    1. Using a camera component and save the image to a variable

    2. Convert the variable with PNG Image to a JPG Image with a JavaScript component.
    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/20744628/how-to-convert-a-image-from-png-to-jpeg-using-javascript

    4. Send the Image to a "Parent Flow". This "Parent Flow" is only a wrapper for the childflow, because you can not link the "Predict - Common Data Service (Current Environment)" directly to the Powe App. When you want link the flow from step 5 this message accours: "Send HTTP Request Error"

    5. In the child flow use this flow:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/ai-builder/flow-business-card-reader

    Best greetings
