I am evaluating the usage of PowerApps in a business scenario and have some questions that I would like to clarify.
• Can we store forms data in PowerApps in SharePoint custom Lists and have promoted fields as we did in InfoPath?
• About promoting fields: is it possible to promote process columns for SharePoint metadata columns? Is it possible to promote tabular information? If so, how is data stored in the promoted column?
• How can you integrate with external systems? Examples:
○ Have dropdown with values to come from external system
○ Submit to external system
○ Have a button in the process form that calls a service and retrieves data from an external system?
• Is it possible to have lookup fields for SharePoint Lists?
• Is it possible to have information in tabular mode? If yes, how is it stored in SharePoint? Can tabular information for example in secondary SharePoint Lists and have these Lists associated with the main PowerApps List (correlation done using Lookup Fields between PowerApps Main List and these secondary SharePoint List)?
• Can a PowerApp process be created by an external process? In what way, using an API, writing an item to the List associated with the PowerApp?
• Can you define views or phases in a process and define at each step of the process whether the previous phase fields are presented and with what kind of permissions (editable or read-only)?
• Can you define that in a process view there are editable and readable fields and that the permissions level is set according to profile? Examples:
• Specific users
• Belonging to AD group
• Belonging to SharePoint group
• Be the person who created the process
• Based on a value of a process People Picker field
• Is it possible to have dependent fields? Examples:
• Hide fields or sections of the process if a certain value is chosen in another field
• Have dependent dropdowns?
• Change process navigation (what view is displayed) according to the values entered in the process?
• Is it possible to have a button in the process that changes the value of a process column (and promoted column in SharePoint)? For example, cancel a Travel Request that changes a choice column to Canceled?
• Deployment: Is it possible to develop a PowerApp in one tenant and have it deployed to another tenant (along with any dependent SharePoint Lists and Content Types that are used in the PowerApp)?
• Is it possible to have a comments field (Multi line of text) with history?
