How do you select an on-premise data gateway for a custom logic app connector?

Hi all,

Just looking to clarify something which isn't clear in the documentation for logic apps.

We are setting up an on-premises data gateway for multiple projects which we intend on setting up in its own resource group.

From one of these additional project resource groups, we are building a custom logic app connector to connect to one of our on-premise systems. When setting up the connector, there is a checkbox for "Connect via on-premises data gateway" but it isn't clear how to select a gateway resource to use.

How does the logic app connector determine the data gateway?

And am I also correct in my thinking around this setup? Or would we need on-premise data gateways for each Resource Group?

@kierian after looking into this, we can see a gateway from another resource group. However, we can't create API connections, for example a SQL server connection, as they seem to fail.

If you create the logic app in the resource group with the gateway, the API connections create successfully.

    Hello

once you install gateway add gateway resource on azure once this completed you can chose gateway to work with when building custom connector

    Have a good day.
