Convert dataverse date format in Flow - VERY URGENT

Hi there,

I have a Dataverse table where a date is populated in US format, so (mm/DD/yyyy).

I know how to convert in to European format to dd/MM/yyyy, but it shows numbers...

I want to convert this to dd/Month/yyyy (date and year as number and month as a word or its abbreviation.), using a Compose operation in Automate to then use in the body of a Send an email action.

The column name for the date value in Power Automate is ['body/hra_raestleave'].

Please can someone help?

Many thanks,

Alexandra

    Heya,

Did you mean to post this in the Power Automate forums instead of the Power Apps forums?

if you use something like formatDateTime() and then for your formatting use "dd/MMMM/yyyy" that will show then name rather than the number for the month

    Cheers,

    Hei,

Yes, you are right about forums.

May I ask you to elaborate on formatDateTime() ? In what action and how can I use (find) formatting like "dd/MMMM/yyyy"?

I am very new to Automate flow(((

    Thank you in advance!

When you type in the compose, the expression editor (where you pick the items to display) is available in the second tab, so you will need to use the formatDateTime function in there, pick the item you want to apply the formatting to, then define how you want it formatted

Click inside the brackets as that is where we want to insert the dynamic content, then click on the dynamic content tab

clicking the item we want to format, which then inserts it inside the brackets we clicked:

Then we add a comma to the end and define the format we want it in, press Enter when done and then click update:

Running the flow we can see it has modified the date:

Thank you for such a detailed answer!

Last question: does it work for "Date Time" only or for "Date only" date fields as well?

    Regards,

    Alexandra

A 'date only' field is actually a datetime field technically, it just has a time of 00:00 😉 so yes it will!

@iAm_ManCat Hello, do you have an example where this works for a dataverse table field? I see this example shows the process for a SharePoint List.
