Master list look for related list and update it using flow

Hello Guys,

I have a request for help.

I have a Master List and another lists, let's say list A list B list C list D list E. I have managed to link those lists all to the master list and they update through Automate flow by using an (Identifier) whenever a new item is created or modified in the lists it will do the same to the master list.

Now I need to make a flow that triggers whenever an item in the master list is modified that initialize a variable to hold the "Identifier" number and include in the flow that looks at which "list" would need to be updated from the master list to A,B,C or D etc. without falling into infinity loop.

Thanks for your support.

    Hi @whissi ,

    Could you please share more details about your scenario? How did you link those lists all to the master list? Are there as many related columns in the master list as the number of child lists?

    Generally, if you have like 5 columns in the master list link to 5 lists, you can easily get which column is modified using "Get changes for an item or a file" action:

    You can use cascading Condition Controls to check each Has Column Changed: XXX values equal to true, if true then update corresponding list, if false check another column.

    Next, to prevent infinity loop of creating item action and when an item is created trigger in different flows, you can add a Text column in all the parent and child lists. So, whenever an item is created manually, there will be a blank column in the list. In your flows, you need to add trigger conditions to trigger the flows only when this column is blank.

    At last, in all the flows, where using create/update item actions, you will need to populate this column using any arbitrary value. In short, update/create items in child list will update or create an item in parent list with non-blank value, and vice versa.

    Best regards,

    @whissi

    I'm curious if you ever found a viable solution for this?
