Power Automate Connector - Azure Service Bus Topic Subscription

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We are investigating utilizing Azure Service Bus Topic subscription using Power Automate connector and wondering if any one have done similar approach and would like to get some details on configurations and pros/cons?

Technically from Azure Function Trigger , we can call Dynaics 365 WebAPI, but if power automate connector provide this functionality, rather prefer to do that if it solves by configuring the flow.

Please assist or share article if available.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Are you asking about the pros/cons between service bus > power automate vs service bus > azure function?

@eric-cheng  thanks for the immediate reply. First i would like to get details on configurations for Power Automate connector on how to subscribe to Azure Service Bus Topic. If you share any article-blog around it, that will be helpful.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Try this article.  It is for Logic App but should be near identical.  Just replicate the steps in your Power Automate designer.

If you dont have a need for multiple consumers to subscribe to a single message, you can also look at service bus queues instead of topics.

Also, depending on your needs and scale, a storage queue may also be a suitable option and save costs.

@eric-cheng  Thanks for the article and details. At this point, we are all set up with multiple subscriber using Topic.

I see this connector has interval configuration, so should i assume , it will keep monitoring the Topic Subscription Queue every often to process the message rather than trigger when message arrives?

I wants to be sure from Cost perspective as well if that are any involved in frequent processing.

Azure Service Bus Trigger Function actually triggers when message arrives rather than checking every interval.
