I posted this in planner forum and it was suggested I post here.

Looking for opinions on best way to handle a project request. My user wants a task management system that will bubble up tasks in To Do, Planner or other pars of M365 ecosystem.

They want the ability to plug in one task (Project Date) and date and have other task automatically generated before and after that date. These projects need to be easily replicated with the same tasks but different dates based on each project.

My initial thought was to manually create a planner plan, build out dependencies for each task based on project date. They could then copy the plan and adjust the project date, but that seems overly complicated?

That is correct, user wants to add 1 task to the plan, the Project Due Date

Additional tasks will be created based on that project due date task being added. The additional tasks will have a due date set based on project due date, these can be days and/or weeks before or after the project due date.

The task names that will be created are already defined.

Start Project (due date of 3 weeks before project date)
Email Project Coordinators (due date of 2 weeks before project date)
Send out Email to Members (due date of 2 days before project date)
Project Date  4/15/2025 (This is the date used to set the other task due dates)
Follow up with Coordinators (due date of 2 days after project date)
Send Email to Members (due date of 5 days after project date)

Let me know if that clears up what I'm trying to do.

    Hi,

I think you are planning for a flow which creates subtasks for main task in planner which you have created where each task created by flow is for different dates- correct ?

But one thing i did not understand here - what you meant by before and after task task creation- did not get a clear picture of same

Also how should the task created by flow should be named ? on what basis ?

    Thanks & Regards,
    Nived N
