Adaptive card on email - get response

(0) ShareShare

Hi,

i'm facing a real problem.

So i'm sending emails with adaptive card content that contains actionable buttons with a picklist of choices like select your car type

1. Renault clio 3

2. Peugeot 307

3......

The idea is if i'm selecting "Peugeot 307", i want to click on a "confirm my choice" button and get the response to perform specific actions.

Via Power Automate, because my company has blocked "http trigger responses" for security reasons, is there an alternative to get the responses of an adaptive card with that scenario?

Many thanks

I can help you with getting the response information back, but someone else will need to assist with confirming the choice on the adaptive card. To get the response information, after the Post adaptive card and wait for a response action, add a Compose action and put the body of the adaptive card response into it. Then run the flow so you get a successful response back. Open the run from the successful response and copy the data from the Compose action.

Then edit your workflow and add a Parse JSON action with the body of the adaptive card response in the content field. For the Schema, click Generate from sample and paste in the data from the successful run. You will then have access to the values from the response under the Dynamic content of the Parse JSON action

    Thanks for your reply.

But i want to get response from an email not from Teams.

I send adaptive cards via emails using exchange online. I want to get the response from guys that approve via the email.

What action are you using to send an adaptive card via e-mail? I am not aware of one. Can you show your flow?

    hi @David_MA

I'm just making some tests to validate or not the use of adaptive cards via exchange online.

Here's a simple exemple i'm using to test it :

I have a manual flow that contain my adaptive card content with an action button

Then i'm adding the output content on an email

I receive correctly my adaptive card with the button

what i want now is to trigger the response when i click on the button and do specific actions via Power Automate.

I know that it's possible to do it with "Http trigger response" connector but it's blocked internally by our company for security reasons.

Is there another alternative to trigger the response without "Http trigger response" ?

    Many thanks
