New Office 365 Outlook Connector Always Uses Signed-in Service Account

Hi,

I use a service account to manage my organization's Power Automate Flows and Connectors.

My organization requires 2FA sign-in for personal accounts. Service accounts are exempted as long as the request originates from within their network. I must be connected to our VPN in order to login to flow.microsoft.com; otherwise, I receive a DUO 2FA error.

When I connect to VPN and connect to my on-premise workstation, I can add a connector such as Office 365 Outlook just fine.

However, when I try adding a connector from my home PC, it ignores any account name I enter and uses my service account instead. This true even when I disconnect from my VPN after I login to Power Automate.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

-Tyler

    Hi @tcwest3

The quick question just for me to try to understand. When you connect from home, are you able to access any other Microsoft products or all of them are unavailable? To test this, go to www.office.com and check if you can see items, and you can open, for example, your email.

If you can't, it's a problem with the authentication step, and that's pre-access to any of the O365 platform.

    Hi Manuel,

    Thanks for your response.

All other Microsoft products work fine. My problem is when adding a new O365 connector within my Microsoft Power Automate environment.

This is what happens when I try to add Excel (Business):

    1. It asks me to Pick an account and recommends my service account. I click "Use another account"

    2. I type in my personal email for my organization and click Next

    3. It says "Taking you to your organization's signin page"

    4. It skips the sign-in page and asks me if I want to "Stay signed in" to my service account. Regardless if I pick No or Yes, my service account is added to the connector. I need my personal account to be added instead.

This works as intended when I access an on-prem workstation via VPN and RDP. It does not work if I'm simply using Flow over public internet or VPN without RDP.

    Thanks!

    @tcwest3

I guess this is problem with browser cookie or cached data, can you please try doing that on a private/in-cognito window and see if you can overcome the issue.
