Setting up a gateway connection for Power Automate can be a bit tricky sometimes. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you set up a gateway connection for unattended mode in Power Automate:

    1. Install the On-Premises Data Gateway:

      • Go to the Power Platform admin center: https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/.
      • In the left navigation pane, select "Data Gateways."
      • Click on the "+ New gateway" button.
      • Download the appropriate version of the On-Premises Data Gateway based on your system architecture (64-bit or 32-bit).
    2. Install the Gateway:

      • Run the downloaded installer and follow the installation wizard's prompts.
      • During installation, you'll be prompted to sign in with your Microsoft account. Use an account that has the necessary permissions for the data sources you'll be accessing through the gateway.
    3. Configure the Gateway:

      • After installation, the Gateway Configuration window will open.
      • Sign in with the same Microsoft account you used during installation.
      • Give the gateway a name and recovery key (for backup and restore purposes).
      • Choose a region for the gateway installation. This should be the same region where your Power Platform environment is located.
    4. Add Data Sources:

      • In the Gateway Configuration window, click "Add data source."
      • Select the data sources you want to connect to through the gateway. These can include various types of databases, files, and other services.
      • Configure the connection details for each data source and save your changes.
    5. Check Gateway Status:

      • Back in the Power Platform admin center, navigate to "Data Gateways."
      • You should see your gateway listed, and its status should be "Online." This indicates that the gateway is successfully connected.
    6. Use the Gateway in Power Automate:

      • In Power Automate, when creating a new flow, choose "Scheduled - cloud flow" for unattended mode.
      • During flow creation, you'll have the option to choose a gateway. Select the gateway you've set up.

Remember, the gateway needs to be installed on a computer that's always accessible and connected to the network and the internet. It acts as a bridge between cloud-based Power Automate and on-premises data sources.

If you're still facing issues even after installing the gateway software, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can consider:

    • Firewall and Network Settings: Ensure that the firewall settings and network configuration on the machine where the gateway is installed allow communication with the Power Platform services.

    • Antivirus Software: Sometimes, antivirus software can block the gateway's communication. Make sure your antivirus software is not interfering.

    • Gateway Configuration: Double-check the gateway configuration settings, including the Microsoft account used for setup, the region, and the data source connections.

    • Gateway Logs: Check the gateway logs for any error messages or warnings that might provide insights into the issue.

    • Gateway Service: Ensure that the "On-Premises Data Gateway" Windows service is running on the machine where the gateway is installed.

If you're still experiencing issues, you might want to reach out to Microsoft support!
