Error while deleting data card

Hello

For the last 2 days I have the error below when I try to delete a data card from a form (I have another problem with one of 40 fields I have and that's why I've been doing some binary search deleting fields & trying to find the one which causes trouble...).

First thought was that dc is somehow stays visible in the draft even after previous deletion and when I try to delete it again it references to nothing and gives the error. So, rolling back to original (benchmark) version should have resolved this problem, but it does not - when I recover original version and try to delete only the same dc it still gives me the error.

Shaman dances around:

- trying to delete another field first and the then the target field - didn't work – same error for another field (in Web, Chrome);

- not using search, going consequently to the target screen, target dc - didn't work (in Web, Chrome);

- gave-up, restarted the laptop – didn’t help;

- recovered version which was prior to the benchmark version and then restoring the benchmark version -  didn’t work;

- opened the app in PowerStudio and tried to delete – the app just closed without even saying goodbye;

- deleting from the form – “Delete this custom card” – didn’t work (in Web, Chrome);

- check on the dark side – using Edge – didn’t help.

Thx in advance for any help!

    well, after some more crazy ideas it worked if first I've deleted the top dc in the list. The difference is that previously I've tried to delete a dc near to the target one. Now I've deleted the top one and then the target one.

    Update: now I have the issue while trying to delete the whole form.

    Using Edge or Chrome in private mode does not help;

    Using PowerStudio neither - it just shuts down without any notification.

    Hi XoG2,

    What’s your current situation? Are you still having the issue on your side?

    Could you show me more details on how did you delete a data card on a form? I assume that the form should be either an EditForm or DisplayForm.

    What is “dc”? Is it a column in your data source?

    About deleting a data card on a form, are you trying to delete a card which you have unlocked?

    On an EditForm, with the form being selected, click Data on the right hand pane, then you will see all the fields. We can hide/show all the fields that haven’t been unlocked. We can delete fields that have been unlocked.

    About deleting a Form, with the form being selected, click the Delete button on your keyboard, it will be deleted. There is no issue when I test this it on both Web player and PowerApps studio.

    Hi Mabel

    Actually I still have all the issues connected to this case.

    Initial issue - An entry is required or has an invalid value (unresolved) - one of the solutions proposed by the community was to delete the form and then undo. Trying to do it led to another error - WebAuthoring abnormal termination - with particular complaining about one field in the form (unresolved for me - community solution with using private mode didn't help here - so I still have the error while deleting the whole form). I've decided to get rid of this particular field then - the result is the error you see in this thread. And it is still the case :(.

    dc - data card, sorry

    I tried deleting:

    • via the objects tree on the left (Choose the screen->Choose the form->Choose the field->Delete) delTree.PNG
    • your methoddelDataSource.PNG
    • Selecting the field on the form and pressing the Delete button.

    All the methods above result into the error.
