Compare a date in a SharePoint List

Hi everyone,

I try to build a flow that compares a date of a SharePoint list.

Here are the fields.

I'd like an email to be sent when :

  • Mail arrivée is set on "Non"
  • When Arrivée is lower or equal to UtcNow + 10

and here is my flow attempt :

Whatever I try, this always returns "false".

But I do not understand why.

I've searched for one entire day on this forum but I still do not understand how to proceed.

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

    Hello @NadegeG ,

when working with dates from a SharePoint list you should always use the ISO 8601 format: yyyy-MM-dd.

    Hi Tom,

    Thank you for your answer.

The fact is that is easy for the Compose block where I can easily change the format.

But what about the condition field ??? How can I change that format ?

I've tried various solutions before writing this post, without success.

Whenever I try to format Arrivée in the Conditional block, I only have access to those possibilities :

So how can I achieve your solution ?

    Thanks.

In the Condition you can keep the SharePoint date as is, it’s in the right ISO format automatically.

Thank you Tom, for your time and help which is really appreciated.

    My compose block is ok.

However the flow alsways returns "false"

Though my 2 conditions are true :

    c4.PNG

Mail arrivée is set on Non

Arrivée (2021-08-13) is less or equal than 2021-08-20 for my first SharePoint item

    Hello @NadegeG ,

what is the 1st condition in the 'Condition'? It looks that you have an extra new line on the left side and that could also be the cause. Try to remove it so it keep only the dynamic content in the left side field.

The space in question is due to the width of the label "Mail arrivée".

I changed the name of that column to "Mail" but the problem remains.

My "Arrivée" column is formated as a date column. I do not know if that changes something for you.

One remark: I made 2 tests.

    • The first one, with only one condition (Arrivée is equal to 2021-08-13 -> it worked perfectly.
    • The second one, with 2 conditions (Arrivée is equal to 2021-008-13 and Mail is equal to Non -> it didn't work

So the reason it fails is the 2nd condition.

For the Mail column, I choose a Choix format.

    The question is why ?

Do you use the 'Mail... Value' dynamic content?

I'm not sure I quite understand the question.

The sharepoint column for "Mail" is a choice format. The default value is set on "Non".

In my flow, I use the dynamic field "Mail" for the comparison and entered "Non" as a text.

SharePoint choice columns are passed to Power Automate as objects. Among the dynamic content you'll have 'Mail', 'Mail Value' and 'Mail Id'. You must use 'Mail Value' as that's the dynamic content that contains the actual value.
