Hi All, I finally got around to experimenting with Copilot Studio. I am encountering issues with generating answers from uploaded documents and SharePoint Online. When I choose an external site as the source it works perfectly with no issues but that's not the case with using my document or SharePoint for example. I ask it questions that I know its in the document and I always get "
I’m sorry, I’m not sure how to help with that. Can you try rephrasing?" Am I missing something here? Thanks for your help,
Eihab
Hey @Eihab-SPO
Have you enable the conversation boosting ?
Hi @alaabitar Thanks for your response, Yes I have conversation boosting enabled on both the document and SPO source bots and still running into the same issue. I have watched few videos and read on Learn, it seems straight forward I am not sure if I missed something. Do I need to do the topics manually? Thanks
Hey!
Same experience as me!
Searching external websites or manually uploaded documents works fine, however when attempting to target a SharePoint site as a data source, it doesn't respond at all.
I've enabled permissions as per the following: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/configuration-authentication-azure-ad
I have tried adding the SharePoint site within Generative AI and directly in the conversational boost flow, same results.
Ticket open with MS but any support would be great!
@Eihab-SPO Uploaded documents worked for me, once uploaded hit save at the top of the page and if using via Teams remember to publish a new version.
Try adding the 'Sites.Read.All' and 'Files.Read.All' permissions in your App registration and specify these two along with existing 'profile' and 'openid' values in the "scopes" field of authentication configuration window in Copilot Studio. This worked for me and hopefully works for you too!
i have the same exact problem. If Copliot O365 has already indexed our site, does this Copilot Studio have to re-index it? I get no response, as if there is not data configured even though it is. Is it okay that our site has folders? Do the files have to be in a root folder or something??
@RobOK Something I did discover was if you remove all the security groups from the SharePoint site and put the user account in directly rather than a group it works fine, @Archana_Aila I can confirm my config matches that image.
Maybe not the best long-term solution but seems to instantly return results based on document information.
I am running into the exact same issue, where Copilot is not able to answer anything based on the content in the SharePoint site. Permissions are set correctly, and I double checked. Did you ever find a solution to your issue?
Here is a troubleshooting guide for Gen Answers over SharePoint. See if this helps.
