Excel connector - List rows present in a Table connecto causes a long lasting lock on the excel file

We have  a simple flow

1 - Copy excel file from sharepoint location to a onedrive folder,

2 - Extract infomation from the excel file using the "List rows present in a Table"

3 - Delete the file from step 1

For some reason, the List rows present in a Table action (step 2) casues a long lasting lock on the files created in step 1 and step 3 is failing... even after more than 1 hr.

When dealing with excel I have found I need to add some strategic placed delay actions.  I believe that while you may concider the file to closed and accessible there are actions that ofetn still taking palce for up to 2 or 3 minutes and excel is concidered still in use on one drive. Place in a delay can overcome that.  Type in Delay in add new actions

I am having the same issue. However, I am using onedrive for business to copy a file and then extract the rows.

I am not sure I understand the question from the previous message.

Let me re-iterate what is the flow.

Step 1 - Flow copies a file from one SharePoint Library to another

Step 2 - Flow uses "List rows present in a table" to extract information from the excel

Step 3 - Flows tries to delete the copy of the file from step 1

Problem - The file is locked and step 3 fails.

In step 2, we use the output of step 1 (new file name) when opening the file and extracting information in a table.

It would be great if the file will be available for deletion at step 3 without the need to wait hours...

    Thank you!

    Hi @Anonymous,

How is your flow created? Could you share a screenshot of your flow?

In the action List rows present in a table, are you getting the file using the dynamic content from the previous action?

However, I am afraid that dynamic contents in File/Table inputs in connector Excel (Business) haven’t been supported yet. If you need this feature, please vote and comment the idea at here:

    Best regards,
