HTTP get request CanvsContent1 null

Hi all

I am using a send HTTP request to get the schema and content of Sharepoint pages and save them as PDF.

it all works fine but for some pages (I cannot seem to be able to pinpoint the commonalities) where, regardless the fact they do indeed have content, the CanvasContent1 comes back as null

here is the flow

Any idea?

the SharePoint site is an Online one, the pages are all standard and are all correctly posted

any help is appreciated

thank you in the meantime

Valentina

    Hi @Anonymous,

    I assume you used the correct body, the one from the Send an HTTP request and not the one of the Get files (properties only).

    Alternatively, you could allow null values in your parse json schema. This will avoid the error in your flow.

    {
     "type": "object",
     "properties": {
     "d": {
     "type": "object",
     "properties": {
     "CanvasContent1": {
     "type": ["string","null"]
     }
     }
     }
     }
    }

    HI @Expiscornovus ,

    I just checked and used the correct body.

    I think I came across a post where you were showing how to get the JSON from the dev console but I could not replicate it.

    I suppose this could be useful to verify what the actual JSON of that page is because when I try to retrieve it using Powerauotmate it always comes back as null but I can see the page content, it is quite bizarre

    thank you so much for the help in the meantime

    @Expiscornovus

    I actually realised the pages that were failing have a content type ="repost page", so I will apply the error handling option, thank you again

    Hi @Anonymous,

    Oh yeah, that makes sense.

    People can also create News links instead of News Posts, those won't have any CanvasConten1 values 🙂

    @Expiscornovus Thank you so much for sharing how to get past the 'null' scenario! This helped me 🙂
