Condition not matching value

Hi all,

I have flow set up to send an email to a certain contact if a response on a MS Form matches a certain value.

For some reason despite the form response matching perfectly, the condition is returning False.

Image below shows the code view of the condition on the left, vs the form response on the right.

The strange thing is I've got other similar conditions on the flow that are working perfectly. The only difference I can see is the "@" symbol contained in the top screenshot. The other conditions that are working do not have the "@" symbol. When I try to delete the "@" symbol it just automatically puts it back. Not sure if this is an issue as the code view shows the fields matching perfectly.

    Hi @AlexJ01 ,

Please try and delete the last condition line and readd it but do not use contains, use equal to.  When I look at your code just use the exact match 60th Anniversary (Series).  Save. Test. Rerun.

Hi @trice602  thank you for taking the time to try and help me! I'll give it a try, but I originally changed it from "equals" to "contains" because it was not matching.

    Hi @AlexJ01 ,

Please share a screenshot of the question that references this.  What type of question is it?

I tried setting the condition to "Equal" but it still didn't match 😞

    Hi @AlexJ01 ,

Ok, try changing this condition to contains "60th Anniversary" and save, test.  Then show the output of the condition please.

@trice602 that solved the issue! Seems like automate didn't like the parentheses!

    Hi @AlexJ01 ,

Nice!  Yeah at the last minute, I was like, "...I bet those parentheses are getting encoded and is the root cause..."
