Converting Email Adress from Sharepoint List for Power Automate Approval

Hey Guys,

im pretty new to Power Automate and having trouble wrapping my head around a certain issue. Ive been browsing the internet for some time now, without getting the result i was looking for. i dont know if it is either that simple or just impossible:

i have an App in place that connects to my Sharepoint List. In the App the user can select people with a people picker (connected via O365) which is in turn variably written into the sharepoint list. I want to use the information provided in the Email-column  to start an approval flow with that extracted email in power automate to implement into MS Teams or Outlook.

My question is: how do i get power automate to use the information written in the Email-column as an actual Email to start an approval flow? Until now, when i just pick the "Email"-Column as a dynamic value it doesnt seem to work. Probably due to the fact that it doesnt know how to convert the information into actual text? alternatively, since the names of the corresponding email recipients are also provided, i could link those to O365 in the sharepoint list and maybe use those profiles in power automate, if that is even possible. Would be great if you guys could give me some advice on that issue. If you think my whole plan is bonkers and that there's an easier way to tackle this problem: fire away!

    Hi @CyRz,

Could you please tell me what is your trigger?

Do you want to start an approval based on the email address within the Person column?

Actually, you could use the When an item is created or modified as the trigger. Note that the Employee is the person column in my scenario.

    Hey Qi,

thank you for your response. Honestly, that is exactly what i've been trying the whole time. Funny enough, after creating a new flow and trying again it just worked without any issues. Idk, maybe it was just bugged in the other flow and creating a new one fixed it. Anyway, your answer really helped in pursuing the original idea and reassuring myself, that it was actually the right way to go about it.

Thank you very much and happy easter!
