Monthy excel file need new UI Element every time on download

Hi:

I have developed a desktop flow that will download monthly rapport in excel from a web portal.Flow works very fine but the problem is that every time when month changes and flow will ask for new UI element. So I can not schedule this process.

I marked UI element with the icon of Excel file . Before that I marked whole excel text I got the same problem . I thought may be the Excel file name that changes its name based on month create problem .

How can I solve this problem?

It would be great if you can share the screenshot how the element appears in website? Is this publicly accessible then share the link, Also to give some info, you need to pass a dynamic variable with the current month and this will works

@Srini007 thanks for your repy . I attached here an image shows how the months are selected in the portal and when we download the file ,It shows the name with the description . The month name changes with respect and year and month. Thats why the excel icon for my UI

@mraza if possible share the Selector of UI element that you are using to download.

Also if you click on the name avvikelser__* will the excel file be downloaded or do you need to specifically click on excel icon.

Hi @mraza

You have to pass in UI element of Excel Icon as avvikelser*

As * is a WildCharacter which replaces any other chacters even if it changes

@LokeshBysani file is download after I choose the year,month star day and end day.. when it is download it will get the name "avvikelser---*yymm01-yymm31.xlsx". Now i want to mention it in desktop flow to select the file either by name or by image as shown below. First time it woorks very fine . when the month changes then flow asked for marked "new UI"..

Hi @mraza

To use the excel file which was downloaded already in the folder, so you can use Get Files in Folder action, and in Advance Options Order by "Last Modified", this will give you the files in %Files% variable

Now you can use the Read Excel and write as %Files[0]% which will give the latest downloaded file

@Srini007 thanks again . Acually i am using the same concept in remove unwant rows from the Excel file . opening the Excel file as i mentioned above because the excel file has button "Enable editing" . Without disabling the button I can not work on excel file.
That why I open the downloaded excel file , open it , click on "Enable Editing", make it active and close the same file and then used the steps you mention and clean the Excel file for sending further.

How can make Enable the Excel file for editing?

Ok @mraza

For opening the excel file follow the above steps and then use Launch Excel and write the same expression as %Files[0]% which will get the files

Also by default it will be Instance as visible only, after this you can keep a click activity to click on Enable Editing

OR

You can bypass the enable editing popup by using as mentioned in this link
