Start an approval action - setting "Assigned To" as a shared mailbox email address

I have a Flow to approve documents in a SharePoint document library. In the "Start an approval" action, if the "Assigned To" field is set to my own named email address it works great. However, if I change the "Assigned To" field to a shared mailbox email address, I get the following error. Any ideas on this?

BadRequest. The request failed. Error code: 'InvalidApprovalSubscribeRequestAssignedToMissing'. Error Message: 'Required field 'assignedTo' is missing, empty, or contained no valid users.'.

Screenshot as follows (following action step fails as well).

Thanks

    Hi @scm8nwr,

Sending an approval email to a Shared mailbox email address using "Start an approval" action is not supported in Microsoft Flow currently, if you would like this feature to be added in Microsoft Flow, please submit an idea to Flow Ideas Forum:

    https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/idb-p/FlowIdeas

In addition, you could consider take a try to send the approval email using the "Send email with options" action as an alternative solution. I have made a test on my side and please take a try with the following workaround:

Note: The approval email would only be received in the Shared mailbox rather than the personal mailbox of the members of the Shared email address. You could find the approval email within the Shared mailbox folder of your Personal mailbox (Details as below).

The flow works successfully as below:

    Best regards,

    Kris

Thanks i'll try the workaround. Using this workflow action, can the user still action the approval within the Flow Approvals centre?

The Flow approvals center will not be available to you when using the Send Email with Options action.  The approver will need to respond (approve or reject) from the email.  Also, there is no opportunity for the approver to provide comments.

Hi, this is not a suitable work around in most cases as you will not know who hit the 'Approve' button, nor collect the approver's comments.
