Using conditions based on Form Response

Hi all. I'm stumbling my way around Power Automate but still very new to all this. I've figured out how to automate form submissions to approvals and spreadsheets, but have not figured out exactly how conditions work.

So currently, I'm building a request form. After the form is submitted, it triggers an approval request to a manager, and once the manager approves/rejects, all the answers and approval status populate a spreadsheet.

What I'd like to do is trigger a flow based on the response of one of the Form questions (basically, which of 2 departments the request is for). I'm a little lost at the and/or language, but have tried both. I'm assuming one answer would be the "true" and anything else would be "false" but I'm not sure what to put the value as. Would I just type in one of the answers or do I need to add some coding language around it? When I click on the Dynamic content, it doesn't give me the specific answers to the question, and I have no idea how to use the expressions. Can anyone explain like I'm 5 how to do this?

Also running into an issue where my flow checker says no errors, but when I save, the condition box "jumps" slightly and the flow doesn't save nor give me an error.

    Hi @cdimo19

I tried using the new designer and it did saved successfully.

Saying that I still use the old designer 😂

Thank you. This is making me think it's a glitch with saving my condition rather than an error on my part, as I typed the value exactly the same as it is on the Form.

Just one clarifying question about your condition. I don't see "and" or "or" before the condition. Did you have to select one of those?

Edit: It looks like it might have to do with you using the "old" designer. I think I'm going to try that and see if it works better than the one with copilot.

    Hi @cdimo19

    This my form

Here I am capturing True or False. Remember the conditions are case sensitive. So it needs to be exact the same value (case) as in the Form.

Here is my flow condition to check True or False
