After an update of Power Platform I am unable to find the the GUID under the DATA tab. I can't add the column in Views either... so how to find this? The guid is synonymous with Row ID.
This is the only thing I can access. What am I missing?
Same here, the column can be viewed when exported to csv, but not in then new view.
@MaxDoglia does the csv file work for you? I don't know how to get it to be readable so I gave it up.
HI @shavora , yes it does work for me. Its not the best, but... as temporary workaround it works. I'll put a ticket with Microsoft, as this looks like its happening for everybody. I'll let you know if they provide any solutions.
Same here.
First, the field/column is generally not exposed in the user interface - this is by design so logging it as a bug will probably not result in any change, if anything log it as an Enhancement.
In DataVerse the GUID is held in a field that is the same name as the table but with an id suffix eg. the Contact table it is in contactid, for a custom Table myCustom would be in something like new_mycustomid where the prefix will depend on what publisher is being used)
Second, some ways you can get it
I am sure many of us working in Power Platform and using Dataverse/CDS has looked for the guid for error handling and long work arounds won't be useful. If you are using Power Automate and you look at a record with lookups, there is only the guid referenced so you will have to double check somewhere that THAT record is indeed the right related record. Or looking in Power Automate for createdby will give a guid, not a name. Burying those guids makes the system non transparent which is an important quality in terms of interactive design, especially for this kind of functionality.My workaround has been to use List rows in power automate and find the guids that way, but it's still longer than having the Data tab.
I agree @shavora I was using it the same way. I have a ticket open with MS and one of the Customizations Engineers is taking a look... hopefully, I'll back here with some solution/news
@MaxDoglia eager to hear, thanks so much 🙏
HI @shavora looks like they fixed yesterday. Its working now 🙂
@MaxDoglia wonderful thanks 😀
