    Hi,

You can use a scheduled flow to run your Power automate desktop flow (which moves files). You can schedule it to run each hour

Power Automate Desktop does not have any triggers/schedules on its own. If you have a Premium license for Power Automate, you can use a recurring cloud flow to launch your desktop flow. Alternatively, you can use the Windows Task Scheduler to schedule your desktop flows (also requires a premium license).

See here on how to do both: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CN_tPdAEkTc&ab_channel=AndersJensen

How can I do that in power automate desktop?

I do not see Recurrence option.

Can you give me image with step on how to do it?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

To do the Line 35: Choose which flows should be triggered (remember to enable this line). You could run multiple flows, do I need to have the premium license?

    Thanks!

    Hi @Chi3

Assuming that your desktop flow is created for moving files. Now create a cloud flow (scheduled flow type) which runs every hour and thus invoke the required desktop flow which moves files. The recurrance would be set at every 1 hour.

    See below for reference :

    Hope it helps !

You need a Premium license to have any kind of triggers/schedules in PAD. It only supports manually launching the flow when you want it on the free version. Both the scheduled cloud flow approach and the Windows Task Scheduler approach require a Premium license, regardless of how many flows you want to launch.

Concurrent flow runs (having several flows run at the same time) is not supported by PAD, though. You can only run one flow at a time. If you try to run more than one, the first one will be launched and further flows will be queued and wait their turn after the first one ends.

Ok! But it is possible to Move files/folder each hour from computer,

using only power automate cloud version ?

Depends on where you want to move them. But it is possible to use the File System connector which can connect to your machine and manage files via the On-Premise data gateway (install needed on your machine). This is a premium connector, though, meaning you will still need a premium license.

File System connector only work with files, not with folder?

  • Agnius Bartninkas Profile Picture

Yes, kind of. Similarly to the SharePoint and OneDrive connectors, it will likely also extract folders as items that will simply have an .IsFolder property set to True. But it doesn't have a native action for creating a folder.
