Block a Form from being edited by the requestor after Request Status is changed?

Hi,
 
trying to find a solution for cases that the requestor of the Form is editing the request after we start working on it . Altough we have change the Status to "WIP"
thinking on block/disable editing once request is changing status from "NEW"
Can you help me out to set it out on my powerapps App

    Try using the DisplayMode property. 
     
    If(cboStatus.Selected.Value = "WIP", DisplayMode.View, DisplayMode.Edit)
     
    When re-opening the Form, from like a search form, check the Status, and issue either the NewForm() or EditForm()
