Error for 'Populate a Microsoft Word Template'

got an error when I tried putting a word template into my flow.

the error is :

The dynamic operation request to API 'wordonlinebusiness' operation 'GetFileSchema' failed with status code 'BadRequest'. This may indicate invalid input parameters. Error response: { "status": 400, "message": "There was an error opening the selected file. Please check the file and try again. clientRequestId: cf1a97fd-ecdf-4f01-9598-599ea03a79d5", "error": { "message": "There was an error opening the selected file. Please check the file and try again." }, "source": "wordonlinebusiness-eus2.azconn-eus2-002.p.azurewebsites.net" }

When i copied this error in google it said that the file needs plain text and not rich text. but when i look at the file it has plain text.

I also made sure to go into the file itself to see if i had access to it, and i actually do.

Hello, @HGBH, make sure that your Word document is closed before you run the flow.

Hey, @AhmedSalih, I actually made sure the word document is close. and that is not the reason. i wish it was that simple.

I have seen this issue before, I suspect it's around the type of content control you have in word.

Do you have plain text controls or rich text controls containing plain text?

Another think to check is that you haven't renamed or removed a control in word, and not updated that in your power automate

You could check this by reselecting your word template in the populate word template step, save, then if there is a schema issue, your flow will error on saving

Can you add a compose action, an add the fields you are passing in to that compose, then share the outputs please?

I quickly created a simple document with one plain text control and that works. So no IP restrictions in my case. Now going to recreate the more complex template that currently results in the error.

My issue is solved! Caused by a mailto: hyperlink.

the issue was resolved by just changing the connection. which was weird but it worked
