New to automate and not understanding

I'm new to automate and I'm having trouble understanding what to use to complete my automations. Is there any guides to help understand how to use power automate. I've gone through Microsoft's tutorial and it didn't help much. I'm looking for some documentation or maybe some videos to help me understand how to use the different connections. I use sharepoint a lot and have issues understanding how to use my list with automate. The videos I have watched have not been useful to me.

Thank you all for the help

    Hi there,

Welcome to Power Automate - it can be overwhelming at first, it's a lot, and you literally can do anything.

Here's my recommendation, and how I learned Power Automate -- find a simple project first. Start VERY simple.

If you've already watched the Microsoft tutorials, you're probably going to need to dive in and get specific questions as you go.

Here are some exercises you can try, to build up:

Exercise 1) Create a flow that, when a new SharePoint file is added, you receive an email that has the name of the file as the subject.

Exercise 2) Create a flow that, when an email is received, you create an item in a SharePoint list that has the body in a column, the subject as a title, and the sender as a people column.

Exercise 3) Create a flow that, when a status goes from Draft to Submitted, you receive an email. But only in that circumstance.

This will help you form some more specific questions, and build up your knowledge.
