Powerapps does not populate URLs to the SP data collection form

I built a Powerapp for a specific user group. This group completes the app by populating the various fields. One of the fields requires the user to input (copy/paste) a url.  All the other data fields get picked up on the SP form but the url one does not. Is it the SP list (form, whatever) that has to be adjusted -- the corresponding SP field needs to be set to URL?  I am in need of an answer soon.

Please advise.

    Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please share a bit more about your issue?

Could you please share a bit more about the URL filed  in your SP list?

Further, do you mean that the URL value the user enters could not be saved back to your SP list?

I have made a test on my side (use a Single line of text type column to store the URL value), and don't have the issue that you mentioned.

Please check if you have specified a proper type column to store the URL value within your SP list. You could consider create a Single line of text type column or Hyperlink type column to store the URL value.

Also please check if you have linked the URL Text Input box to the corresponding fied in your SP list. In other words, please check if the Update property of the URL field Data card which contains the URL Text box is set to following:

    URLTextInput.Text

If the issue still exists, please consider take a try to re-create a new app based on your SP list, then check if the issue is solved.

    Best regards,

    Kris

    Kris:

Awesome feedback. I checked your points/ suggestions and all was intact.

I realize now that my issue was due to the URL string I was using.

You can't just type in (example) google.com. You have to have the WHOLE address: http://....

    Lesson learned!

Much thanks for the support. And, as I work thru this app and the enhancements, I will have more questions!

I did buy a book to help, but if you have resource suggestions - books, videos, etc - please SHARE!!!
