Converting a portal from Trial to Production error - "You can’t convert your trial portal to production as you don’t have an appropriate license."

We have Dynamics 365 Sales with 10 licenses with Marketing attached.

I created marketing page and when it went live asked me to create portal. I followed steps but somehow the page didn't go live. The state stays "Going Live". So, I "Reset" then Portal without knowing that it would actually delete the Portal.

So, I provisioned new PowerApps portal and linked it with Dynamics and it works find. However, When I try to convert it to production, it shows message saying "You can’t convert your trial portal to production as you don’t have an appropriate license.".

I am global admin and has E3 license + Dynamics Sale Pro license. Does any know know why I am getting this error.

After we had a chat with MS support, we purchased add-in that gives access to external users. Sorry, I don't remember exact name of that add-in.

    Hi @samYun ,

Even though you have mentioned you provisioned the portal and linked with Dynamics. Probably when a power apps portal is provisioned it will install the dataverse in that environment. Normally when you try to link Dynamics app in Portal you should have received the following error

The solution which may help you to solve your problem is:

    1. Create a new environment

    2. Link / install your dynamics first on the new environment

    3. And then provision the portal.

    Hope it helps.
