Set drop-down list value on web page error

Hi!

I am trying to select a value from a drop-down list on a web page, but I keep getting an error. I have tried using index and name, but both won't work. I want to try and find the value I need based on the name, because the place where it is stored keeps changing.

The UI element is selected like this:

The name I want to find is quite long (reference number + address and name of company)

But I keep getting these error messages. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

    Dear ANNEMAP,

I am not that familiar with the dropdown list action, but the things that come to mind regarding your problem are:

    • Are you sure that the error is for not finding the dropdown-list item on the element ... or not finding the element itself? Either way, customizing the element/list item to be more dynamic may help you. Once I realized how this worked, my flows became much more stable instantly. Please have a look at: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/desktop-flows/build-custom-selectors
    • Is it an option to use OCR/image recognition in the navigation ... this is not preferred, but if there is not other way and it works ... then it works.
    • Is it an option to completely circumvent the dropdown-list? Can you for example navigate to the desired target by configuring a target URL?

Hope the thoughts help out, if so, please indicate in the thread. If you need some help in customizing the elements, please let me know.

    Happy flowing,

    Koen
