Trigger Password reset manually

Hi Experts

Does any one found a way to trigger password reset via some workflow/flow/code ? Basically we want the call centre team to provide functionality to send a password reset email to some customers?

I found the "send password reset to contact" but I didn't find a way to trigger it. Any body any thoughts on how to trigger this?

Thank you

-Srikanth

    Hi @ansrikanth

As per @Fubar suggestion, the problem is "Send Password Reset To Contact" process mailbox is not configured for the Owner Contact.  You can change the contact to your name and test the workflow.

Otherwise, I have published the article using a shared mailbox way. If you are interested please check the article below

    Hope it helps.

Assuming you are using Local Authentication

    • Portal Management App has a button on the Contact record where an internal user can reset Password - just types in a new one (think it is only available on the Portal Contact form)
    • You can configure Forgot my password functionality (set Site Setting "Authentication/Registration/ResetPasswordEnabled" to true
      • If you already have this and the email is not sending then you may need to
        • Change the "From" field in the Process action "Send Password Reset To Contact" to a user or queue that has appropriate permissions (the default is the owner of the contact and the owner may not have permissions to send), and/or
        • Enable Exchange integration (add approve the mailboxes of the users that will be Contact owners)
    • Another way to change the password is you can send a portal Invitation to Contact (even if they are an existing user, they will be prompted to create a password)

So, I presume no solution for this?? It's a bit strange though.. this looks like a kind of common scenario (calling to call centre and call centre advising and helping reset password)

    Thank you
