Referring to the attached image, I realised today that the following sections under "Generative AI" are suddenly grayed/greyed out and no longer editable on my end:
- Public websites & Sharepoint sources
- Copilot Content Moderation
I'm not sure when this started but two weeks ago, I was able to make edits to them.
Why does this happen and how do I regain the ability to edit these parts?
Hi @Syamil, can you check what the content moderation setting is in your 'Conversation Boosting' system topic in your bot? Once you customize that topic, this is where you need to make changes, as most of the 'Generative AI' menus become then greyed out.
It may be a bug too - can you please open a support request using Get Help + Support in Power Platform - Power Platform | Microsoft Learn, for further troubleshooting?
I hope you are doing well. Instead of using the conversational boosting topic, I used a custom topic set apart that I set to low moderation (using the method of my previous answer).
The "fallback" topic redirects to my custom topic. I don't have problems with moderation most times.
Have a great day 😃
Hi @HenryJammes - I'm getting an increasing number of failures because of the "High Content Moderation" level.
The only place where I have "High Content Moderation" is under the Generative AI section which I am no longer able to edit. In the topics, everything is set to medium or low.
How do I regain the ability to change the content moderation level in the Generative AI section? Is there a workaround for this?
Yes, I have made edits to the Conversational Boosting system topic.
You mentioned,
@HenryJammes wrote:Did you make changes to the Conversational Boosting system topic?
When you start customizing it, you can't update the Generative AI menu, and you simply need to do the changes in the Conversational Boosting topic.
Is this a recent update?
I was able to make changes to the generative AI section previously despite having edited the Conversational Boosting topic.
In addition, the "Copilot content moderation" in the Generative AI section setting seems to have been auto-updated to High also, even though i have previously set it to medium. And now I can't change it.
This is causing some failures for the bot to provide an output. See screenshot below. (In the Conversational Boosting topic, the moderation is set to medium.)
If I can no longer edit the Generative AI section, how do I edit the Content Moderation level that's set to high there?
Did you make changes to the Conversational Boosting system topic?
When you start customizing it, you can't update the Generative AI menu, and you simply need to do the changes in the Conversational Boosting topic.
Thanks for your input, @citron-truc.
Is this a recent change? I was sure I was able to make updates to the Generative AI section even though I had the "Create Generative Answers" component on my bot.
Hey @HenryJammes , I did a check and can confirm that it has not been changed. Gen AI features are still enabled. See attached screenshot.
Any other things that I need to check?
Hi @Syamil - has anyone changed environment level settings to disable the use of generative AI, if your environment is outside of the US?
I.e. those? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-copilot-studio/manage-data-movement-outside-us#enable-data-across-geographic-locations
