How to copy a selected item within the same list using SharePoint and a flow

Hi

I've little experience of using flows. I've already followed advice from other boards on how to copy a selected item within the same SharePoint list. I have got so far but now I'm stuck.

Steps followed so far: Integrate>Power Automate>create a flow, then I have set up the following flow:

When I saved and went back to my List, I select an item and select 'Automate' and the option I have is to 'Complete a custom action for the selected item'. I need the link to say 'Duplicate case' and then once selected stay Run flow>Duplicate case and just duplicate the item that has been selected. Apologies if this is obvious or elsewhere.

Thanks for your help

Kat

For Troubleshooting purpose can you change your List View to All Items and also add and show the out of the box ID Column in your list ?

In the run history of a flow you should be able to see the ID of the created item and also find a link to the item. Maybe that helps you finding the item.
    Change to All items

    Add ID Field to View

Further  you can make sure that under Edit current view no custom filter is set.

Thanks for your help and replying. The history shows it ran successfully but still an item doesn't duplicate, I also asked another member of my team to check and this was the same for them. I'll keep working on it in the meantime.

Can you check the run history of your Flow in order to make sure that it run successfully.

For troubleshooting purposes, can you double check that you don’t use a view in your list which filters out your newly created items ?

    Hi Georgios

Thanks for replying so swiftly. I've changed the name and changed my Id. I refreshed and cleared cookies, but when I run the script the item doesn't copy in the list.

    Best wishes

    Hi @KatT ,

the name you see here in the context menu is the name of your flow. Go to edit mode in your flow and just change it to Duplicate case and save by clicking in the old name, it is a text box. Refresh your SP site and Zoe should be done 🙂 SharePoint ist using the name of the flow in the context menu.
