Limitations of Leave Request Template

Hi, may I know the limitations of the features in the Leave Request Template? What's more with the template and what hidden/subtle features are useful?

Thank you.

    @syhrh

    The Leave Request template provides the functionality for users to make leave requests and for managers to approve or to reject leave requests.

    The features are all pretty obvious so I wouldn't say that there are any hidden or subtle features. The app detects the manager for the user through the Microsoft 365 setup, you can configure the number of available vacation days, you can group the requests into types such as vacation/family/sick days etc, and the app keeps track of the number of remaining days for each employee.

    The limitation of the template is that it may not suit exactly the way that you or your business works, so I would recommend that you try out the template to assess the limitations for yourself.

    Two very common requests is to be able to make half day requests, and to adapt the template so that it works with SharePoint rather than Excel. I have created and uploaded a copy of app of app with these adaptations here.

    Hi @timl, thank you for replying. How to change the Company Holidays and its the collection? I've tried your steps on GitHub but received this error.

    May I know how to fix this error?

    Thank you.

    Hi @syhrh,

    Thanks to @timl for his contribution on Power Apps.

    Actually, this error message means that you do not have permission to access the data source Balance because this belongs to @timl .

    You should create a SP list as your data source to store all the data from Power Apps.

    Hi @v-qiaqi-msft, I did create the SP lists based on the link given by @timl  and use them as my data source but I still received the same error that I don't have permission. Then, what should I do?

    Hi @syhrh,

    So you created the Balance by yourself and it still tells you don't have the permission?

    So you are the owner of the list?

    @v-qiaqi-msft Yes to both questions.

    @v-qiaqi-msft why whenever I import an app, I can't add SP to my data source? There are only existing SP lists that  I allow permission to before creating the app. I want to try to re-add the SP list but no match found.

    @syhrh

    To further diagnose this permissions issue, if you create a new app based on the Balance SharePoint list, do you still receive the permissions error?

    @timl

    Do you mean that I create a new Leave Request template and use the Balance SP list as the data source?
