Sending Reminder Emails from Excel with the help of Power Automate

Hi All,

After countless hours and multiple failed attempts, I am turning to you guys for help.

I have an excel sheet with the renewal dates for courses for my staff members.  I want to have an automatic email reminder be sent to me 15 days in advance so I can send them the recertification information.

I've tried creating multiple flows and somewhere along the lines - it gets broken or I got one flow to work but it sends me a blank email.  This is the flow.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Thank you for responding - unfortunately im quite beginner with all this and I still am not 100% sure on how to fix it.  I tried following your instructions, but now im getting a bad gateway error.  Probably because im missing something along the lines.

Is there a better flow for me to use from start to finish to accomplish what im trying to do?

@adaley Is your Filter Array action returning any items?

Whenever I use a Filter Array action, I always like to return the count of items returned in a Compose action. This is helpful when building a flow and can also be used to troubleshoot your flow. Insert a Compose action. Add an Expression. Use the length() function.

Select the Dynamic content tab and insert the body dynamic content from the Filter Array action into the length() function.

Also, I would recommend adding a Condition action to your flow. If items have returned (aka there is number stored in the Compose action—that is not equal to 0), add the rest of your actions to the Yes branch. If not, do nothing.

Additionally, you are using the Filter Array action to filter our the rows from your List Rows Present in a Table action, however in your Apply to Each action you are looping through the items returned from the List Rows Present in a table action and NOT from the filtered array.

Instead of building out your flow fully then running a test, build it out in stages and test it at each stage before moving onto the next.

Did you know that the Condition action has a limit of 10 conditions? Although it might look like the Filter Array action can only accept one condition—this is not true. By using the advanced mode you can enter multiple conditions into a Filter Array action with an expression.
