I built an app in PowerApps for Web that used Premium features. Turns out that the users don't have Premium licenses. The solution was to move the app over to PowerApps for Teams where those Premium features are part of the Teams licensing. Here is my issue. I exported the solution and Dataverse tables from a development environment. When I run the app in Teams I get the following message.
Is the app tied back to my original dev environment in some way? Do I need to publish the app to production in PowerApps for Web and then export the solution and Dataverse tables from there?
Hmm. Not much difference in the Per App Plan and Pay-As-You-Go unless the $ per user is different. I'm probably looking at 20 users or so. Looking at Premium licenses for all of them appears to be at least twice as much as the Per App Plan.
just to add on and depending on how many users and apps you have there are different licensing options
to think about. - I prefer to Per User Plan.
To show the contrast the Unlimited apps can be 4 times more than than the single app license.
Right. The tables metadata goes over but not the data. I would need to export/import that separately.
Yes, you have to include all the tables in the solution as well.
Please mark this answered if clarified your question.
Ok. So I would need to publish to production and then export as a solution to be imported into PowerApps for Teams. I assume I would need to also export the Dataverse tables from production as well since they do not contain the data from the Dev environment or is that data also transferred when published?
"In the production environment, you can have per app license so that users don't require power apps premium license." I haven't heard this before. The warning I get when I go to share an app is that the end user needs a Premium license. Where can I find more info?
It seems your app in a development environment. You need to move the app into a production environment. You can export it as a solution or can build a pipeline between production and development. In the production environment, you can have per app license so that users don't require power apps premium license.
