How to convert Twitter: Get Follower - Data into an Excel-Sheet

Hi There,

I am a newbee to power automate and I would like to know how you can import the data from the Twitter: Get Follower function into an excel-sheet. I could manage to retrieve the information with the Get follower function, but when ever I want to populate the excel-sheet with the information I only get the user name, but not the other information like: Location, URL of the pic etc.

My appologies for this basic question, I checked Youtube etc. but could not find a solution, although the issue seems pretty basic.

Thx for your help

Stefan

    Hello,

When you use the get follower connector then you can get the user location, image url etc... like that

    Hi Alaa,

do I have to use the initialize value function for each data field I want to retrieve from the get follower function such as one for the user name, one for the userid, one for the location etc? And how do I get these variables into an excel-spreadsheet by adding a row to the excel-spreadsheet with the corresponding variables? Do I have to loop this step, so that all the followers let's say 10 followers are stored with their information in the excel-sheet?

Sorry to bother you, but thx for your help.

    Hello @BasementBluesBo

You need to initialaze the variable outside of the loop and set it inside the loop so yes you need to loop through. You can also choose to not store in a variable and use the add row into a table connector to add items and directly put the values into the excel sheet and.

    Hi Alaa,

ok here is what I did:

    1. Set up an manual trigger
    2. Used the Get Follower Function
    3. Tested and ran the function
    4. The Get Follower function returned the the data of 10 users of a twitter account in JASON format from the twitter API
    5. Manually created a table in Excel on One drive for business
    6. Used the Excel add row function after the twitter get follower function
    7. Tried to link the twitter data to the fields of the table; however for some reason the add row module always added the variable: body, which is the descripton of all the JASON data
    8. The result of the flow was that only the 10 user names were added in the first column of the table but no other information

I guess, I must be doing something wrong. I watched some vids on youtube, but no vid directly relates to that topic and some of them are fairly complicated.

    Thx, for your help.

Allright, I would suggest to leverage a sharepoint list instead of an excel sheet because from the sharepoint list you can then export it as an excel. Would leveraging a SharePoint list instead of an excel sheet be something that you can consider ?

    Best regards,

    Alaa

    Unfortunately, not really.

What it comes down to is how to convert data from the twitter api, which come in a JASON format to an excelsheet on one drive without storing the JASON file somewhere. Basically, how do you pass the JASON api twitter data immediately to excel.

    Thx

    Stefan

    Hello,

Allright so you can follow this article https://tomriha.com/how-to-add-a-row-to-a-new-excel-sheet-with-power-automate/ witch describes how to create an excel sheet and put content in it. You then just need to put the right values from the get followers connector.

    Best regards,

    Alaa
