    Hi @RPA7 ,

Power Automate v1 schema and v2 schema are different ways of storing and managing data used by Power Automate’s desktop flows.

    Here are the key differences:

    1. Storage: In the v2 schema, Power Automate stores desktop flows in Microsoft Dataverse1. This makes working with Dataverse APIs easier and enables future product enhancements with desktop flows.

    2. Database Consumption: The v2 schema effectively reduces Dataverse database consumption for paid license users.
3.Version Compatibility: You need Power Automate for desktop v2.29 or later to author and run desktop flows using environments where the v2 schema is enabled.

4.Functionality: Desktop flows currently stored in the v1 schema continue functioning as intended in environments where the v2 schema is enabled. New, modified, and resaved desktop flows are stored in the v2 schema.

5.Editing: In the v2 schema, desktop flows in a managed solution can’t be edited in Power Automate for desktop. This is a change compared to the v1 schema, where editing is allowed.

(Note:- if you got your solution you can mark as solution and gives kudos)

    Thanks & Regards

    @RPA7

Please find the below details in simple explanation:

    • Desktop Flows: These are the automated workflows you create using Power Automate for desktop.
    • Data Storage: The v1 and v2 schema refer to how data associated with these desktop flows is stored within Microsoft Dataverse.

    v1 Schema:

    • Original format: This is the initial way desktop flows were stored in Dataverse.
    • Being deprecated: Microsoft plans to retire v1 by the end of 2024.

    v2 Schema:

    • New and Improved: This is the updated storage format for desktop flows, offering:
      • Easier integration with Dataverse APIs.
      • Potential for future desktop flow enhancements.
    • Automatic Upgrade: New, modified, and resaved desktop flows will automatically use the v2 schema in environments where it's enabled (which is the default now).
    • Compatibility: Existing v1 desktop flows will continue to function in v2 environments.

    Upgrading from v1 to v2:

    • Recommended: Microsoft recommends upgrading to v2 for future-proofing and potential new features.
    • Power Automate for Desktop v2.29 or Later: You'll need this version or newer to create and run desktop flows in v2 environments.
    • Rollback Option (Temporary): Power Automate for Desktop v2.29 or later allows rolling back v2 flows to v1 in specific scenarios. However, this is not recommended for most users and may not be available after v1 deprecation.
