Is there any way to restrict users to book only one room per day? If user already have an active user should be able to book another booking on that day

I am using book a room template to book meeting room. I want to allow users to book meeting room only if there is no active room on booking available for that user. If user is already booked a room, unless and until that booking is expired, user should not able to book another meeting and if user try to book , error message should be displayed as " only one booking allowed at a time "
