Getting metadata from a saved file *.msg

Hello community.

I am looking for an advice here, because I don't know if this is possible?

I save some emails from outlook to my sharepoint library. Basdically the process is: in my outlook I select the email, then SAVE AS, pick the location and save as "outlook message format - unicode".

So the email is saved in *.msg format and the file name is the  subject of the email. So far so good and I have no problems with that.

I would like to save a copy of the title in another column because my power apps is complaining for delegation.

I have tried "Title" and "Name" and both has delegation issues  {"Name"}.

Thanks in advance for any response.

Regards

Unfortunately no. I have abandoned that project since no response.

    Sorry 😞

    Hi @bennettdan,

what exactly you are trying to achieve?

@sajarac I've gotten close using various Sharepoint get file information connectors. But I can't find a way to get the email body into a connection that is in a JSON format so I can parse the required data.

I have had limited success with using the Get emails (v3) connector and taking them direct from Outlook with a manual trigger. This has a limitation of 25 max emails and sometimes just doesn't run even though it reports a success. If I could make this work and for volumes of 100+emails at a time I would just copy all the .msg files back to Outlook and then run the automation.

Why saving or drag and drop .msg / .eml files direct from Outlook 365 to Sharepoint with all the correct metadata isn't an OOB solution baffles me.

Hi @VictorIvanidzeI'm trying to save emails to a sharepoint library and rename the files with the subject and received time so they don't overwrite reply emails that get saved at a later date. I then want to add the ReceivedDateTime to a column and Sender information to another so that the Library is more searchable later.

Did you try to use a GRAPH request to get emails as JSON objects?

@VictorIvanidze, not yet but I have just been looking at the how this could be done. Are there any licensing limitations to doing so?

This is one of the versions I have been trying to build.
