Hi team,

We imported a managed solution into the prod environment but later realized it should be unmanaged. So now we want to change the managed solution into an unmanaged solution without affecting any items inside of it like views, forms,. etc. how to achieve this? how to change a solution from managed to unmanaged? without affecting any items inside of it.

Hi @Anonymous. Forgive me for stating the obvious (unless I have misunderstood the question), but why not export the Solution from the source environment (assuming a DEV environment) as unmanaged and then import into your Production environment?

I would not recommend this however. For (hopefully) obvious reasons a Production environment should not contain Unmanaged Solutions.

    Hi @Anonymous ,

Unfortunately, converting a managed solution to an unmanaged solution is not supported. That's by design.

If you still have the .zip file of the managed solution, there is an unofficial workaround.

Please note that this method is not supported by Microsoft.

    Best Regards,
