addDays not passing converted date output to the next step - help!

Hi all,

I have an addDays expression that I use as a variable in another flow - and it works fine. However, in taking the initialize/set variable steps from that flow and applying it to a different flow I'm working on, I can't seem to find the right placement for the init and set steps. This is based on the output by the time it goes downstream through each step not converting from an Excel date to a proper date time format.

Here's my flow end to end:
This is the addDays expression that I use that works in another flow:
addDays('1899-12-30', int(item()['StartDate']), 'MM-dd-yyyy')

This is meant to convert the Excel date from its format to an MM-dd-yyyy that my Condition action at the end of my flow can then check against. However, it's not passing the conversion through the step - even though the output of that step shows a converted date. The very next step's input shows the Excel date ( "StartDate": "44914" ).

Losing my darned mind over this one - anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? Note: the goal is to reference the StartDate field in the Excel table and if it's 14 days from that date, conditionally send the email.

Thanks!

    Hi @jnpb , I'm little confused with the expression used. The addDays expects second parameter as interger as configured. May we know value of item()['StartDate']? The name of field seems to suggest it is date value.

    Hi @Ajinder31 ,

    Indeed - [StartDate] references a field name in the Excel table I'm working with. I have the column formatting to output as shown below, but Excel is passing the date as the Excel date format.

    I have this addDays working perfectly in another, simpler flow, but in this one I cant figure out a) why it's not working the same way and b) if it's a matter of placing the Initialize Variable  and Set Variable steps in the right spots. It's driving me crazy!

    As presented in the Excel tagbleAs presented in the Excel tagbleWhat is passed in input directly after the step where the expression used as a variable is Set.What is passed in input directly after the step where the expression used as a variable is Set.

    Hi @jnpb

    You can convert date format to ISO8601 directly in List rows present in a table without using addDays function.
