Apps that I have deleted from web/studio still appear on mobile app. clicking on the app shows "Failed to load App. An unknown Error occurred." which is expected since it has been deleted. And under Details, there is no delete option. How can I remove these apps from mobile mobile powerapps?

This should be sync issue.
Log out and login again should have the deleted apps removed under Mobile App.
Besides, if issue insists, would it be convemient for you to share your session ID?
Tab the top-left, then click:
Session Details
Make a note of the Session ID, then share it here.

Besides, have you tried to uninstall and re-install the App?
Further, would you please also check the PowerApps mobile version, under Android, IOS , or Windows 10 Mobile?
PowerAppd mobile under ISO version should be: 2.0.611
Under Android version should be: 2.0.610
I had to uninstall the Powerapps to clear the deleted apps.
I have this same issue. Its not really realistic to expect me to tell everyone to uninstall and reinstall powerapps every time i put out a new version and want to delete the old ones. Is there a workaround?

This appears to still be an issue. Anyone seen a solution that doesn't require users to logout and login of PowerApps on their mobile?
Ditto, though I'd settle for the logout/login to do the trick as even that isn't working for me. And asking our userbase to do an uninstall/reinstall of PowerApps on their devices is a non-starter.
Any updates on this? I'm facing the same issue. App is deleted, nor shared and user in his app still can see that deleted application.
