So I have a Flow that has about 500 session running. Now more then a day when they should run within seconds to minutes. When I caught it I turned off the Flow and turned it back on. New sessions are running just fine they complete with in milliseconds. My question is those 500 session will they eventually run and complete themselves are should I just plan on going back in and canceling them? I also am considering doing a Save As making a new Flow and then deleting the old Flow to just stop the old sessions.
The error that caused this was just going over use limits and not a particular action that caused this.
Any Advise?
I have setup a second Flow to restart this Flow every 30 minutes to prevent it from going over the limits again a quick on/off flow. Also if it goes longer then 1hr 20 minutes to send me an email on any future session that starts running too long.
So an update. It took over 3 business days but it looks like all the Flow sessions did complete.
However for the first two days I could go in and sort the sessions and see the Running sessions some would change the date and time. I know this because I changed the flow and added to it but when i pulled up the session they stated was running it would show an older Flow session. I guess it was just a fluke.
Yea my on/off restart Flow seems to get me around the limits. I discovered this months ago on another project it had almost maximum actions you could have on an flow and I have it running about about 1000 times a day. I have an A3 License. Also discovered if you create a parallel branch on a flow at the beginning set a delay and then have it email yourself if it passes the delay you can monitor the flows more in real time if it starts to break. But you must also put a terminate action at the end of the normal branch for if it ran successfully. This away it will not trigger the parallel Alert email.
Hi Brain,
The old sessions should eventually complete. If you were simply hitting a 24 hour limit then when that limit refreshes in 24 hours it should process another batch. Your turn off/turn on strategy is certainly interesting, not something that I would expect to work. Hopefully this continues to work for your org.
Regards,
Alex
