Find List Items by ID where a Flow ran

Example: I have a flow that gets triggered when an Item in SPOnline has been modified.

Scenario: A user reports an issue to me for a specific List Item and its Business Process (which is the flow basically).

Problem: I can't find this item in the Run History of the flow to see what went wrong, if the last execution of the flow happened a while ago. I can implenet the ID column in the Run History, but I can't filter or search for a specific ID. All I can do is to browser through the Run History by myself and click "Show More" all the time, till I maybe or maybe not find the item I'm looking for.

This can be really troublesome if a flow gets triggered 100s of time each day. We have lists which are heavily in use on a daily basis.

    Hey @Urben85

Lately I was also facing the same issue.

So, I found a workaround. Whenever a flow starts, you can make an entry in sharepoint list that the flow started at this time. By this you will be able to track what run history to check.

One more thing you can do is, make a column of run history link. That will directly enter the run history link in the column.

Plus you can log data/errors in a table.

To get more info on logging data/errors in sharepoint list follow the link below:

Logging of Actions in Sharepoint. [Inputs, Outputs, Final Status, Start Time, End Time], Log Errors.

To get flow run history link of specific run you can follow the below link:

    I hope this helps 🙂
