Hi all,
Recently I have been using the trick to change my 'data row limit' to 1 to check for 'hidden' delegation issues. I then discovered that my Dataverse entities only show one record when I use them for a ComboBox. See the following examples:
It happens with system tables and custom tables and it happens in all applications. Does anybody know why this occurs and if it affects my users search capabilities?
Hi @Anonymous ,
This is an issue with the combo box control.
The combo box is under delegation control.
You can see the difference between these 2 controls.
Best Regards,
Wearsky
Hi Wearsky,
Thank you for your response.
So this is not something that will affect users search capabilities? Or will it?
What do you mean with under ‘delegation control’?
1\ It will affect users search capabilities.
2\ If you set the 'data row limit' to 1, the combo box returns up to one record.
If you set the 'data row limit' to 3, the combo box returns up to three records.
The amount of data returned by the combo box is affected by this setting.
Hi @v-xiaochen-msft , I understand the settings have an effect. My question would be rather: will it only search in the first 2000 records when users search in the combobox and the limit is set to 2000?
This seems to be affected by the data source.
I set data row limit to 3.
SharePoint cannot work:
Dataverse works-
I turned on 'allow search' setting for both combo box controls.
The combo box for sharepoint will pop up a warning about the delegation.
If I turn off it, the warning will disappear.
Hope it helps.
Hi @v-xiaochen-msft ,I see. So setting the data row limit will limit the VISIBILITY of the rows SHOWN in a ComboBox. Such as:
But it will not impede the SEARCH capabilities since I can still search for other records in that set in the ComboBox:
While with a delegation warning such as with Sharepoint it is not possible to search for the other records. Clear, thank you!
