Power Automate Approval Flow - What if Approver provides response in the App, instead of directly from Teams/Email

Good morning all,

I have a PowerApps form (customized SP form) that gathers information from a potential traveler.  Once this form is submitted to SP, a Power Automate Approval flow triggers to start a chain of approvals (3 levels).  The requirement was for them to be able to not only Approve/Reject from the Teams/Email notification, but to also be able to navigate to the App, and provide an Approve/Reject response in the App, click submit, and it updates the Item - and sends another Approval flow to the next Approver.  This works fine, except if the Approver provides a response in the App, that initial Approval flow just kind of stays put without resolution.  Is there a way to Update the Approval "Outcome" or "Response" in the flow based on a condition?  My flow has a "Create an Approval" and "Wait for an Approval".  I need the flow to also recognize when the "Project Manager Approval Choice" field in the App = either Approve/Reject, so mark the Approval flow Response/Outcome as Approved or Rejected.  Can't seem to find a way to do that.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Good morning, why do you need both logics, why not just keeping the Approve / Reject inside the app ?

You can update the Approval Dataverse table in order to approve the outcome and play with it in your flow. You have to consider licensing by doing this..

So that was my original structure - just have standard email flows based on Approvers providing responses in the app.  Worked perfectly.  The issue here is that half of the department also wants to utilize the Approval flows - easier for them to just give a quick response in Teams/Email.  So it kind of pins me in a tough spot.  My current logic to handle both works, except that I haven't found a way to tell the Approval flow that a response has been given elsewhere.

I'm currently trying to find a way to set the "Outcome" or "Response" with dynamic content based on a condition.  Like, if Project Manager Approval Choice (choice field in the app) <> null, then...update "Outcome" or "Response" with that field's selected value (same choices as in the Approval flow  -Approved, rejected).  If I could figure this part out, then that would tell the Approval flow that a response has been given - then it'll end that flow.

I also don't have access to a premium license.  And I'm leveraging SharePoint, rather than dataverse.

I suggest to use adaptive cards instead of approvals, The experience will be almost the same
