Date Picker not working: weird BUG?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has come across this before.

I have 2 Date Pickers in an App and when they are directly beside or below each other (no other controls between them) the second DP doesn't work when trying to select a date. The strange bit is that the DPs work fine in the Editor but not in a Web Browser when I play the App.

This app last built Oct last year and was working then but isn't now.

Here's a pic of the Not Working vs Working:

DatePickers_NotWorking.jpg

And here are gifs of Not Working vs Working of two of the above:

All the controls are the same, they have just been moved around.

I spent hrs going through OnChange code for the DPs, deleting DPs and replacing them with new ones, checking other logic in the app that maybe affecting this, etc but moving the DPs to the last position above was the only thing that worked! Is this a known issue? Seems like it should be. Very frustrating to have spent nearly half a day on something so simple.

Has anyone encountered this before?

    Hi @Anonymous, just saw this.

Are you still facing the issue? If so, does it make a diff if you replace these pickers with new ones?

May be time to use my custom date picker where you can control everything including position 🙂

    @PowerAddict

Hey mate, thanks for the reply. You offered an alternative without a link to your Date Picker component! I'll do the plug for you mate - here's the link for anyone reading this post 🙂

To your other question, Yes, I created new DPs - twice - because I wanted to make sure I hadn't made a mistake the first time. The odd parts are this was working when I first created it AND in the Editor both DPs work fine, it's just in the Web App where the 2nd one doesn't.

I've re-designed my App to look like the last option shown in the pic above and it's working now. I was more looking for a "Why?". Seems like there's an invisible 'no go' buffer where a DP cannot be placed in the vicinity of another DP?

I've updated my Post title to include the word "BUG" so maybe MS will have a look at it now 🙂

Haha, my bad. Thank you for including the link. There's actually a v3 coming out tonight, so I will post the link to that as well.

That seems really odd though. I am going to test it out now. I am guessing its the mobile layout. Were they part of a form or no?

I just tried and it worked fine. If possible, can you share the details (exact locations, width, height etc.) so I can test it out?

No, tablet layout and not part of a Form. The only thing I could think that maybe affecting it is that the DPs are on the far RHS of the canvas so maybe the RH edge is coming into play. However, I thought I was able to discount this theory by setting the X position of both DPs to the same value.

Another weird experience in the Editor was when selecting the second DP (when in a position that didn't work in the Web App) the screen would seem to shift ever so slightly to the left - like a mini shimmer. I guess this was an indication that something odd was happening but what it is/was was hard to say. Don't think my ScreenToGif would be able to capture it though to show what I mean.

Unfortunately I've lost the exact X, Y, width and height values because I've messed with it so much. I guess I could revert back to an older version to get them but I'm a little hesitate to do that, given what I had to go through to get it to work 🙂

Looking at the Top image in the above pic, from memory, the values weer:

    - X = 1092

    - Y of the 2nd DP = 199 (I had that written down)

    - Widths; 2nd DP = 159; 1st DP = 189

    - Heights for both = 34

Other than the Y I had written down, these are just from memory but seem about right.

So I was able to replicate this issue. Seems like it works only when it has enough space to the right of the date picker control. As you can see, I added multiple ones to check when it starts working.

Can one of you please take a look at this issue? The date picker control seems to stop working (or shows up for a second and disappears) when its too close to the right side of the screen, as shown below:
