HTTP request on IPv6 only URL

Hello there.

Recently I tried to build a Flow, performing a HTTP request on an URL that is accessible via IPv6 only. According to that, the URL's DNS configuration just has a AAAA record.

Running the flow, the HTTP request fails. It stats, that the URL can't be resolved. Is seems there is a problem with the HTTP request action, since the site is ping-able and can be accessed via browser.

I hope, you can give me some insights on this issue.

Greetings

Nils

    Hello @nilsramsperger ,

If you try to do the same request using POSTMAN, is it falling with the same error?

Are you able to browse the API endpoint (both with IP address or Hostname)?

    Best regards,

    Hi there,

    it is always the same.

As you can see in the attached screenshot. I try to do a GET request on https://dev.buchnboot.de and it fails with "UnresolvableHostName".

    Regards

    Nils

Could you please show a bit more about your HTTP action?

The error message told that the hostname that you provided in the "HTTP" action could not be resolved. Please check if you have filled the proper request URL within the Uri field of the "HTTP" action.

For more details about the "HTTP" action, please check the following article:

Get started with the HTTP action.

    Hello Ana.

Trying the address with a POSMAN like tool (Boomerang), I get a HTML page as result. The address itself can be browsed. It leads to the login page of the application. So that works fine.

My HTTP action's config is shown in the attached screenshot.

To give a bit of context. The flow runs on a schedule. It sends a request to a website and sends me a message if the site is not reachable. A copy of that flow works fine with an other URL, that can be resolved to an IPv4 Address.

    Regards

    Nils
